The people I asked to model for me came over at 3 pm the Saturday before Thanksgiving Break.
There were six people in all,
Tanrei Hale
Grace Snow
Zoe George
Ashley Sin
Audrey Jenkins
Sarah Dundee
I gave them a list of all the shots and let them pick out the ones they were comfortable with doing, so no one had to show anything they didn't want to show.
I had given them all Waivers the day before, for their parents to sign off on so I knew that they had permission.
I asked my sister, Audrey Jenkins, to do the makeup for everyone and she agreed so she did the black eye on Tanrei's face and the lip bruise on Sarah Dundees face

When talking about sexual assault, the term "One in three women" gets thrown around and I wanted to actually get the fact right, so I positioned my friends on my porch, since it was a sort of neutral background.
For this shot I originally wanted to use chains, but I was unable to get them in time for the shoot, so I used some climbing rope that my mom had in the basement.
This shot wasn't originally in the list of shots, but I talked to one of my friends about modeling this for me because it was a more personal shot, and she agreed, but didn't want her name to be announced
This is my favorite shot of all. My friend Sarah modeled this for me, with my sister doing the lip bruise on her cheeks. I positioned her on my balcony so the trees and the sky were in the background, and so the color set off her eyes.
This shot was simple, I just put Grace Snow on my porch and had her slump a little, I was the one who photoshopped shadow in.
Originally I wanted to use duct tape but I could not find any, so I had to settle for packing tape. Tanrei still looked great though.
Before putting in the statistic, I thought I was going to use a PTSD or a Depression fact, but I couldn't get it to work, so I instead added the serving time fact. I used my bed, and a simple pillow with tape for the "Chalk outline".
I was told that this looked like a punk feminist band cover, and that was perfect. All of the models were my friends, with the same values as me, and when I asked them to do this show, they captured the half livid, half taunting look that I needed to really pull this shot off.
I wanted to use a banged up barbie for this shot, but I couldn't find any in my house, so I used an Indonesian doll that my mom had gotten me, which actually almost worked better. Audrey Jenkins held it for me.
Zoe George gave me the idea for this one, but since I didn't have it written down, I forgot to do it. I asked my sister Ellie to do it for me last minute when I remembered, and she agreed. For the cage effect, I stuck her in our chicken coop.
